Here's an excerpt:<br /><br />"Posted: 4/20/2008 11:06 AM<br />Re: Randy Lewis' gold medal match <br /><br /><br />Thanks GG, this was fun to watch. Reminds me of one of my favorite Randy Lewis memories. Any or all of this recollection could be inaccurate given the fog of the years, but I have a vivid memory of watching Lewis wrestle a match in the Big Ten Tournament in Iowa City. I believe he was wrestling a kid from Illinois. Early in the match Lewis stuck his leg out inviting a leg shot from the opponent, the kid took the leg and Lewis pounded him, probably for back points in addition to a takedown. Later on the feet again, Lewis baits him with the leg again, the kid shoots again and promptly gets pounded again. Still later, on the feet again, Lewis sticks his leg out again, and the kid TAKES A BIG STEP BACKWARDS. It was hilarious and my friends and I laughed our a$$es off."<br /><br /><br /><br />***MMAClassics.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07497151938456766672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6661020999232675971.post-91116699866541482952008-05-12T18:38:00.000-07:002008-05-12T20:47:05.773-07:00What does Randy think of female fighting?<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.mmaclassics.com/fighter"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlBh50RyfgYMhi2Rfd1_ibbvVTm79J2sYF_ieHR2eeM1seBP2i11lHPezqVDp0QPuf9F3jQBHaKipJ4I1rFqKWif99JGojTbtxUmTh390X_vcKXHAkpdFfy9pfEAv2OVV54u9G7puXF67c/s400/victoria5.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199663167975433106" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.mmaclassics.com/fighter"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZsf1U_RJ_QgyGmynkCgyN7aZZIvMDCipZnMmB3bZcwCegN_IUqIyH-HpcSFJtxaKUBwsloltdHWMVQDboBdWrMBxnhyphenhyphen3b2OzmBWWRDHbIgKpJriMlnmz14Vp3ZogpT9e4UzRy1bqyUWHG/s400/victoria4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199663043421381506" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.mmaclassics.com/fighter"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJXUCX8D4kOP7qjWIn_yBAR4_EI5vL2LB_zddcn78Yz74dmJeUTW65mpAa0x9nbg3qTMnwbAm71N6jnZ21hf2ER3Dir_DKn7Lr9sFIbIiMHA_jPtjGHpBmCO1ei7GcidrNJpoHIuZoE2KP/s400/victoria3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199662948932100978" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.mmaclassics.com/fighter"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibBoIU0SAFGVToVWuLsf0urLPgtFm-VOhjXjTI6FqSvhcmPx6JG2A1MQPPChtmw8liezmTEM-yo38HQGlqOp-Jj_RoFg4qETSfJ_OraGntxeJbqxwUebtNT7stWELiRt08p4jPFN4lTwr8/s400/victoria2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199662854442820450" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.mmaclassics.com/fighter"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Et4ys1bJbpyD2wIcdDki7ic2XapLSXHbLR7WENTfKpABSQL1RD3oLKNPMzC6YO9Vvuo0MJHgZYNzy2S8Q1pKCD1-uq5ZT7J-Dsy1HrIezQhOMBH4lxnhn_ikcrPrRtwWaj2_s86OuaMT/s400/victoria.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199662725593801554" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Rumor has it that Randy Lewis is a complete male chauvinist pig. His former teammate Rico Chiapparelli appears in the documentary film <span style="font-style: italic;">Fighter</span> and happened to give Randy a copy of it. After watching the movie even Randy had to admit that MMA fighter Victoria Schiltz (shown in the pics above) has some skills. She stars in <span style="font-style: italic;">Fighter</span> along with Chiapparelli, wrestler/UFC champ Randy Couture and a number of amateur athletes. The film includes one of Victoria's bloody cage brawls and several interviews with Victoria about her life, family, and unconventional career. The images above were lifted directly from the DVD. As a wrestler, Lewis used to bait opponents into shooting a single or high crotch. His philosophy was that no matter where he was on the mat, he was in position to score. Now, in this clinic demonstration, Lewis passes along the techniques that made him one of the most dangerous wrestlers from the feet. Once your opponent gets a leg, Lewis wants to do one of two things - square the hips or get the man to his knees. In each position, Lewis shows a number of different moves that will allow your wrestler to score - and even put his opponent to his back. In addition, he shows how to score if the opponent has your wrestler's foot in the air, if he collapses the leg, and how to score from a low single shot. These techniques are more than defensive moves - they will allow your wrestlers to always be on the offense!"<br /><br />45 minutes. 2005.<br /><br />Click here to order:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.championshipproductions.com/cgi-bin/champ/WRD-02468.html?mv_pc=CP00082">Randy Lewis: The Impossible Leg -- Championship Productions, Inc.</a><br /><br /><br /><br />***MMAClassics.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07497151938456766672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6661020999232675971.post-64003687762382342372008-05-11T10:17:00.001-07:002008-05-11T10:19:20.878-07:00Show your love for Randy Lewis<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjI-lg2LtmOBfEL19hPMUfgfmrMbbEXQwqUkB5TeXuv0fFbWTRBYcu0rROvWHQptWJCjFyQxq0euGo4HNJardmd4mElRdyhzUrJqrprsiEiZCOuPEI0ukorjzOQcKn-_c4PJ7yx5tAouc/s1600-h/randy2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjI-lg2LtmOBfEL19hPMUfgfmrMbbEXQwqUkB5TeXuv0fFbWTRBYcu0rROvWHQptWJCjFyQxq0euGo4HNJardmd4mElRdyhzUrJqrprsiEiZCOuPEI0ukorjzOQcKn-_c4PJ7yx5tAouc/s400/randy2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199170651673826002" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><center><iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=r1tracen-20&o=1&p=8&l=as1&asins=B000Y45MLE&fc1=FFFFFF&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=000000&f=ifr" style="width: 120px; height: 240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe></center><br /><br /><br /><br />***MMAClassics.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07497151938456766672noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6661020999232675971.post-78361379044316552602008-05-11T10:09:00.000-07:002008-05-11T10:11:13.344-07:00Randy Lewis in Sports Illustrated<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1068159/index.htm"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghLp4PA5YDoOiuCVSc_y_bngmEMjN32cuMz2FU4-rNPzVt6vyKDMrvcEkhmUNc1yfrITHm3JVaZ87h5nKuCboXcJvCtbEBlsFIBFIvX9TaHH63lhrWBkdrCfI92l1Hy-OhvbTLm9Sc5U8/s400/si.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199166399656202930" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Click <a href="http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1068159/index.htm">here</a> to read a 1989 <span style="font-style: italic;">Sports Illustrated</span> article about the U.S. wrestling team's defeat of the Soviets for the first time in 17 years.<br /><br />"The Americans didn't beat cream puffs. The Soviet squad included four 1988 Olympic gold medal winners, plus a silver medalist and a bronze medalist.
